This is an example of how your photo can look laser etched onto wood to save for all times or share with a loved one!
Here are some tips for selecting the right photo!
1. Make sure the image is bright and has good light.
2. Avoid dark colors - on the laser these get etched as black and can sometimes overshadow the photo
3. Avoid photos with shadows - especially across the face or part of the photo that you really want to see, again, these will come out darker on the laser engraver.
4. Close up photos make for better images. Remember, this is engraved on a laser, not a high quality photo printer on paper. With photos that are full body or taken from far away, you may not get the detail that you're looking for.
5. Avoid contrasting colors, if someone is in a bright white shirt and another person is in a dark colored outfit, it's tough to adjust the photo to now wash out one part of the image but still show the detail in the other!
Here are some tips for photos to select!
1. A photo whttps://img1.wsimg.com/isteam/ip/1341c264-1e95-45bd-898e-d0fa6064ec38/20211220_151322.jpg/:/cr=t:0%25,l:0%25,w:100%25,h:100%25/rs=w:600,cg:truehere everyone is in the same area, unlike the poor photo to the left, and other than my wife, we're all in the same plane of the photo
2. Use well lhttps://img1.wsimg.com/isteam/ip/1341c264-1e95-45bd-898e-d0fa6064ec38/Poor%20Photo%202.png/:/rs=w:600,cg:true,mit photos, outdoors are great (just make sure nobody is squinting into the sun!
3. Lighter colors show up better when printing, as I mentioned in the "Photos to avoid" section, dark colors just show up as black on the laser engraver.
4. If you want to get an idea of what your photo will look like laser engraved, try converting it to grayscale/black and white.
5. And always remember, these are being engraved on wood, every piece is unique and no matter how hard I try, sometimes the wood grain like to get in the way, but that's also what makes it so unique!
